The Technical Draftsperson is responsible for 3-D modelling using Autodesk Inventor and the preparation of AutoCAD drawings for playground equipment components and parts.The department is responsible for innovation and product development, and this involves creating computer models and drawings for use in the development of new components and prototypes. A knowledge of appropriate raw materials as well as an understanding of the many existing stock parts used within the playground system will need to be acquired. The role also involves the preparation of drawings and specifications for use in the production process, as well as file preparation for CNC routering and tube laser processes.The company has a custom-built add-in for Autodesk Inventor for play unit modelling. The role will involve gaining an understanding of how this has been built to enable maintenance of the software and further development of the add-in functionality. Comprehensive understanding of VBA coding is essential for this aspect of the role.

Responsibilities
Innovation and Product Development
- Autodesk Inventor modelling of new components including the selection of materials and parts
- Production of CAD drawings for fabrication of prototypes
- Development of technical information and documentation for new components coming to market
- Preparation of technical drawings for manufacture of components, and update of existing drawings when changes occur
- Maintenance of the technical drawing library
- Preparation of assembly diagrams for production teams
- Designing of tube slides including defining relevant section rotations, and producing of assembly plans for specific projects
- Managing of Enroute programming for CNC routering of plastic components
- Preparation of appropriate files and programming of parts for tube laser machine
- Operation, maintenance and further development of adventure+ custom-built Autodesk Inventor add-in for play unit assembly, including understanding, modifying and creating VBA code
- Generating technical content for website and marketing purposes
- Updating and adding installation instructions for new components and new processes
- Updating CAD models of existing play units for changes in specification
- Demonstrated above average competency in modelling and technical drawing using Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor
- Working knowledge of VBA coding, and aptitude to further develop this skill
- Working knowledge of Illustrator, and/or graphics programs
- Basic competency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
- Background knowledge of light steel fabrication materials and processes
- Competent with mathematics, especially geometry
- Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
- Remuneration package of: AUD $75,000-$80,000 + Super
