We are currently seeking a motivated, experienced Leading Hand to join our dynamic team. As the Leading Hand, you are responsible for working along with other team members and project managers to successfully and safely complete projects they are required to work on.You will join a great team who thrives on solving problems and getting things done quickly. About UsCentral Industries is a family-owned and oriented construction business based in Lithgow. Our work is mainly concentrated in the Blue Mountains and Greater Sydney region. It covers a wide range of projects, including road and pedestrian bridge construction, boardwalks, jetties, footpaths, landscaping, shade sail and structure installation and other open space infrastructure projects. We travel across regional NSW for various projects. The RoleThis role will require you to travel, and have assignments that will require work away from home for 6-12 week projects throughout NSW.Your day-to-day responsibilities are to be in charge of the site to ensure the successful delivery of the project, your main duties will include:

• Site operation and responsibility
• Hands-on machinery operation
• Coordination and documentation of all site activities
• Coordination of subcontractors
• Control of site resources
• Hands-on utilisation of tools and machinery
• Leading as second in command to a team of 3-5 personnel
• Construction programming
• HSEQ implementation and compliance with company procedures

Requirements Qualifications

• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Preferably a trade certificate, degree in Engineering, Civil, Construction Management, or a similar field; a Master’s degree is a plus
• Industry experience in Civil Roadworks & Bridges
• Understanding and demonstrating implementation of the HSEQ management systems
• Extensive experience as a Leading Hand or in a similar role
• Knowledge of Project Management Software
• Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
• In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
• Organisational and time-management skills
• Previous leadership experience is preferred
• Structural experience is an advantage
