We are currently seeking a motivated, experienced Leading Hand & Machinery Operator to join our dynamic team. As the Leading Hand & Machinery Operator, you are responsible for working along with other team members and project managers to successfully and safely complete projects they are required to work on.You will join a great team who thrives on solving problems and getting things done quickly. About UsCentral Industries is a family-owned and oriented construction business based in Lithgow. Our work is mainly concentrated in the Blue Mountains and Greater Sydney region. It covers a wide range of projects, including road and pedestrian bridge construction, boardwalks, jetties, footpaths, landscaping, shade sail and structure installation and other open space infrastructure projects. We travel across regional NSW for various projects.The RoleThis role will require you to travel, and have assignments that will require work away from home for projects throughout NSW.Your day-to-day responsibilities are to lead the site to ensure the successful delivery of the projects, your main duties will include:
  • Site leadership and responsibility
  • Hands-on machinery operation
  • Coordination and documentation of site activities
  • Liaising with subcontractors
  • Oversee site resources with Project Manager
  • Oversight of tools and machinery
  • Leading a team of 3-5 personnel
  • Construction programming
  • HSEQ implementation and compliance with company procedures
RequirementsQualifications
  • Leading Hands require excellent communication and time management skills
  • Experience in Civil Roadworks & Bridges, or similar construction activities
  • Experience operating machinery such as excavators, skid steers, etc
  • Structural Experience
  • Understanding and demonstrating implementation of the HSEQ management systems
  • Previous experience as a Leading Hand or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
  • Organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to lead and inspire
