We are currently seeking a full-time Vice President for our Enterprise Solutions investment team based in Edison Partners Princeton, NJ office. Our Enterprise Solutions team invests in software and tech-enabled services companies in B2B categories, such as cloud infrastructure, data & analytics, IoT, sales & marketing, security, supply chain & logistics, workplace technology, and healthcare.

In support of Partners within the Enterprise Solutions team, Vice Presidents spend time on new investment opportunities, portfolio company management and internal firm operations. As Vice President, you will evaluate and analyze new investments, manage the due diligence process, are responsible for research efforts of the investment team and work to employ Edison’s investment and operating model to drive returns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Business Development • Source and evaluate investment opportunities that match Edison’s investment strategy and criteria, and constructing frameworks to surface new opportunities • Help Partners manage the Enterprise Solutions opportunity pipeline on a weekly basis and review new opportunities generated (i.e. turnover qualification within the sourcing team) • Provide support and mentorship for Associates/Analysts in the sector • Develop and maintain a relevant network to cultivate referral sources, including early-stage VCs, auditors, bankers, lawyers, etc. • Propose and champion investment candidates with Partners

  2. Investment Management • Working as part of the investment team to evaluate and execute investments, including managing the due diligence process, valuation analysis, and memo preparation • Effectively communicate and quantify an investment thesis along with its related risks and mitigating factors • Develop theses around industry trends and market opportunities, and constructing competitive analysis • Detailed financial model analysis and return modeling • Work with portfolio company management (i.e., CEO, CFO, CRO), including project support for core Edison investments. Manage post-close value creation initiatives • Serve as Board Observer on select basis
    • Organize internal and external reporting with a focus on quarterly and annual Edison events and Limited Partner communication

  3. Diligence • Effectively communicate and quantify an investment thesis along with its related risks and mitigating factors • Effectively research investment target’s competitive position, market size and industry dynamics • Help coordinate and manage customer, market, technology and accounting/financial due diligence • Assist with the coordination and management of internal and external service providers • Lead due diligence processes for select investments outside of Enterprise Solutions, e.g., fintech, healthcare tech. Produce due diligence summary reports and new deal risk assessments

  4. Firm Leadership • Take an active role in building Edison’s brand in general, and within the Enterprise Solutions sector, i.e. producing content (e.g., blogs, contributed articles), speaking at industry events, being available to media to comment on portfolio companies and/or industry trends. • Represent Edison at relevant industry, technology, entrepreneurial, banker, venture conferences and other networking events • Co-chair or contribute otherwise to Edison Edge programs, e.g., CEO Summit, industry and peer roundtables, Edison Director Network events, lending POV on industry and other topics relevant to growth-stage executives • Special projects that utilize your business and technology experience, on which you may work with Edison investment professionals, Edison Director Network members, portfolio company management, and/or consultants

REQUIREMENTS We're looking for high-integrity professionals with not only grey matter and financial chops, but also strong salesmanship, business maturity, interpersonal skills, and high intellectual curiosity to work in a team setting or independently.

• Ideal candidates will have at least an undergraduate degree, and 3-7 years of experience working in venture capital or growth equity having contributed to numerous transactions.
• Strong understanding and interest in emerging B2B software/technology companies and experience with multiple business models, financial modeling, and due diligence processes.
• Entrepreneurial interest and orientation are critical, as is the ability to work in a fluid, every-changing environment. • Great networker, with an ability to grow our network and represent the firm in market.
• Strong writer and communicator, excellent listener, with superior sales skills and comfort regularly traveling and interacting with new people. • MBA or advance degree preferred, and/or operating experience in a finance, sales or product role within a startup or growth-stage technology company.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

You will report to and work closely with the Partners of the Enterprise Solutions team. Compensation includes base salary paid on a monthly basis, and a discretionary performance-based annual bonus. Vice Presidents are awarded a partnership interest (carried interest), which is subject to a vesting schedule. Over time, additional grants of carried interest is possible based on performance.
