Location: Charlotte / Hybrid / Required 2-3 days per week in the office

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Administrator. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to manage complex projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Windows and MAC operating systems, networking, and cloud technologies. You will be responsible for mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure for over 500 users across multiple international locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Mentor: Guide and mentor junior system administrators, providing technical direction, fostering professional growth, and ensuring a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for IT infrastructure improvements, including system upgrades, security enhancements, and new technology rollouts.
  • Project Management: Lead IT projects from conception to completion, drafting detailed project plans, managing timelines, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • System Oversight: Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of all computer systems, including laptops, mobile devices, and server infrastructure.
  • Helpdesk Management: Manage the helpdesk ticketing system, prioritizing and delegating incoming requests and issues to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Vendor and License Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee the acquisition and maintenance of all software and hardware licenses.
  • Policy and Documentation: Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Budgeting: Assist in the planning and management of the IT team's budget, including equipment purchasing and software subscriptions.

Technical Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in system or network administration, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
  • Deep expertise in the Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud environments.
    • Microsoft 365: Extensive experience with administration, including managing licenses, user accounts, and security settings.
    • Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD): Proven experience with identity and access management, including Conditional Access policies, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and single sign-on (SSO) configuration.
    • Azure: Strong working knowledge of Azure services for infrastructure management, including virtual machines, networking, and security groups.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) for managing and securing Windows and macOS devices.
  • Preferred experience with a variety of collaboration platforms, including Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace administration.
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, MCSE, AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), or MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator) are a significant plus.
  • Strong command of systems and networking hardware, software, and protocols.
  • Proven experience with scripting and automation tools to streamline IT processes.
  • Expertise in implementing data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures to ensure business continuity.
