Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our Infrastructure Team on an urgent basis. This role is critical to ensuring smooth delivery of Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps projects, effective team collaboration, and timely resolution of issues impacting business operations. The successful candidate will be a key driver in managing delivery, cross-functional communication, improving processes, and fostering team growth and development. Additionally, the role involves running some projects for the greater Technology Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scrum Master Responsibilities:
    • Facilitate agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
    • Encourage continuous improvement within the team by identifying inefficiencies and implementing process enhancements.
    • Support the team in removing impediments and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
  • Project Management:
    • Plan, prioritise, and oversee the execution of infrastructure-related and general tech projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
    • Use the right level of formality/documentation for projects depending on their size and importance.
    • Coordinate efforts across multiple teams, including DevOps, Development, and Security, to achieve project deliverables.
    • Manage resource allocation and resolve bottlenecks, ensuring optimal use of team capacity.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear updates on progress, risks, and issues.
    • Liaise with Product Owners and Development Managers to align on priorities and dependencies.
    • Ensure transparent communication channels between teams, management, and stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship:
    • Provide guidance and mentoring to team members, fostering a culture of accountability and ownership.
    • Identify and address underperformance, skill gaps, and development opportunities within the team.
    • Drive initiatives to enhance team cohesion and dynamics as the team expands.
  • Risk Management:
    • Proactively identify risks impacting infrastructure projects and develop mitigation plans.
    • Manage critical incidents, including root cause analysis and coordination of resolution efforts.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master and/or Project Manager in infrastructure or DevOps-heavy environments. Could suit candidates who have run tech teams.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and best practices.
  • Exceptional organisational, communication, and leadership skills working with distributed remote individuals and teams.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with competing priorities in fast-paced settings.
  • Experience working with tools like Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
  • Solid technical understanding of cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and security protocols is highly desirable.
  • Personality is important for this role! We’re looking for pragmatism, common-sense, easy to get on with and communicate with a variety of people and not get easily excited.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for streamlining daily tasks
