Technical Account Manager

As we scale our enterprise customer base, we’re seeking a senior, customer-facing Technical Account Manager (TAM) to ensure our most strategic customers successfully deploy, operate, and scale our SaaS platform. The TAM is a trusted technical advisor post-sale, owning platform health, technical adoption, and risk mitigation across a named portfolio of enterprise accounts.
This role sits at the intersection of Customer Success, Support, Product, Engineering, and Sales, and is critical to driving customer trust, renewal confidence, and long-term value realization.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Ownership & Customer Success
- Own the technical success of assigned enterprise accounts from onboarding through renewal.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customer IT, security, and engineering stakeholders.
- Ensure customers achieve rapid and sustained time-to-value from the platform.
- Maintain a deep understanding of each customer’s architecture, integrations, and technical objectives.
Tactical Responsibilities (Execution & Reliability)
- Lead technical onboarding, environment setup, and complex integrations (APIs, SSO, data pipelines, security controls).
- Proactively monitor platform health, performance, and usage patterns to identify risks before they impact customers.
- Coordinate incident response, escalations, and root-cause analysis with Support and Engineering.
- Provide hands-on guidance for platform configuration, optimization, and best practices.
- Document customer architectures, configurations, dependencies, and technical decisions.
- Ensure technical readiness for upgrades, new features, and platform changes.
Strategic Responsibilities (Advisory & Value Creation)
- Act as a long-term technical advisor aligned to the customer’s architecture, roadmap, and maturity level.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks to adoption, renewal, and expansion.
- Partner with Customer Success to support business outcomes, success plans, and executive relationships.
- Enable renewal and expansion motions by validating technical feasibility and advanced use cases.
- Influence internal product and engineering roadmaps through structured, actionable customer feedback.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Customer Success Managers to align technical execution with business outcomes.
- Support Sales Account Managers during renewals and expansions with technical credibility and solution validation.
- Work with Product and Engineering to escalate issues, prioritize fixes, and represent customer needs.
- Coordinate with Support to ensure high-severity and recurring issues are resolved efficiently and permanently.
Success Metrics
- Time-to-value and successful completion of technical onboarding.
- Reduction in technical escalations and recurring incidents.
- Depth of platform adoption and feature utilization.
- Renewal and expansion success through proactive technical risk reduction.
- Customer satisfaction, trust, and engagement with technical stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in technical post-sales, customer engineering, or solutions roles within B2B enterprise SaaS.
- Strong understanding of cloud architectures, APIs, integrations, and enterprise security concepts.
- Experience supporting large enterprise customers in complex, multi-system environments.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business impact for non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, high-accountability, customer-facing environments.
- Experience supporting regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, government, GRC) is a plus.
- Prior experience as a Solutions Engineer, Implementation Lead, or Senior Support Engineer.
- Familiarity with enterprise compliance, security, or risk management platforms.
