Director of Customer Success

We are seeking a Director of Customer Success to lead and grow strategic enterprise accounts within our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform. This individual will own executive-level relationships, drive measurable business outcomes, and ensure high retention and expansion across complex global organizations.
This is a strategic role designed for an experienced Customer Success professional who understands enterprise SaaS, large-scale compliance programs, and the operational realities of GRC, third-party risk management (TPRM), and ethics & compliance environments. The ideal candidate combines executive presence, operational rigor, and commercial acumen.
Responsibilities
Strategic Account Ownership
- Serve as the primary post-sale strategic partner for a portfolio of enterprise accounts (Fortune 1000 / global organizations).
- Build trusted-advisor relationships with CCOs, CROs, and Heads of Compliance, Risk, and Procurement.
- Develop and execute multi-year account success plans aligned to client risk posture, regulatory obligations, and digital transformation priorities.
- Lead Executive Business Reviews (QBRs/EBRs) focused on measurable outcomes and ROI realization.
Customer Retention & Expansion
- Own and maintain Gross Revenue Retention (GRR) > 95% across the customer base.
- Contribute directly to strong Net Revenue Retention (NRR) through upsell and expansion motions in partnership with Account Management.
- Identify and drive expansion opportunities across modules (e.g., TPRM, ethics & compliance, policy management, risk intelligence).
- Partner closely with Sales on upsell and cross-sell strategy.
- Proactively mitigate churn risk and drive measurable improvements in customer adoption and engagement.
Value Realization & Adoption
- Ensure clients achieve measurable outcomes such as:
- Improved third-party risk coverage
- Reduced assessment cycle times
- Stronger regulatory audit readiness
- Increased program maturity across ethics and compliance
- Drive product adoption across global business units.
- Translate platform capabilities into operational impact.
Executive Engagement & Governance
- Engage C-level stakeholders and board-level audiences.
- Facilitate steering committees and governance cadences.
- Translate product roadmap into client-relevant strategic narratives.
- Act as the voice of the customer internally.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Coordinate across Product, Support, Professional Services, and Sales.
- Ensure seamless implementation-to-adoption transition.
- Escalate and resolve complex enterprise issues.
- Influence roadmap prioritization based on enterprise client needs.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing Customer Success organization.
- Set clear performance expectations tied to retention, expansion, adoption, and customer outcomes.
- Develop leadership bench strength, succession planning, and career pathing within the CS team.
Requirements
- 8+ years of consultative, results-driven experience managing and expanding enterprise SaaS accounts (legal/compliance industry experience preferred).
- Proven track record of retaining and growing enterprise customers in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Direct experience supporting GRC, TPRM, or Ethics & Compliance software platforms.
- Demonstrated success managing high-value accounts and closing expansion opportunities.
- Strong pipeline management and revenue forecasting capabilities.
- Ability to successfully engage C-level stakeholders (CCO, CRO, CIO, Procurement).
- Deep understanding of regulatory environments (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act, DORA, GDPR, SOX, ESG requirements).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and strategic mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable with Salesforce, G-Suite, web conferencing platforms, and reporting/dashboard tools.
- Experience within PE-backed SaaS environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise compliance operating models.
- Background in risk consulting or compliance advisory is a plus
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
