Are you an Automotive and/or Diesel Mechanic turned Service Manager? If so, you may be who we are looking for! The Automotive Site Service Manager oversees all mobile fleet service operations at our Vancouver, WA location ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient workflow, and maximum profitability while maintaining quality standards. The Automotive Site Service Manager serves as the strategic leader for our automotive service operations, overseeing a comprehensive range of services from routine maintenance to complex mechanical repairs. This pivotal role balances operational excellence with business development, ensuring their operating area functions as a profitable business unit while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction. Acting as both a technical authority and business leader, this position requires someone who can seamlessly transition between hands-on problem-solving, team leadership, and strategic planning to maintain our reputation for automotive excellence while maximizing departmental revenue and profitability.

  • Days and hours are mainly M-F 2 p.m.-midnight, however may vary depending on business needs

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Manage the daily operations of the service department including scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource allocation
  • Lead, develop, and motivate a team of service advisors, technicians, and support staff
  • Establish and maintain high standards of customer service, resolving escalated customer concerns
  • Monitor department performance metrics and implement strategies to improve productivity, quality, and profitability
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty policies, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to increase revenue
  • Manage inventory of parts and supplies to minimize costs while ensuring availability
  • Create and manage budget, monitoring expenses and profitability
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors, current and potential customers
  • Stay current with automotive technology advancements and industry trends

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive service management
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, service procedures, and repair techniques
  • Ability to pivot from one responsibility to the next managing multiple priorities
  • Proven leadership skills managing Technicians–Preference given to those who have experience managing a mobile team.
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
  • Must be a strategic planner and an expert in operational execution
  • Must be solution focused and have the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and move around vehicles for extended periods.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry developments.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record

WHAT EXPERIENCE ISN’T REQUIRED BUT WILL HELP SET YOU A PART FROM OTHER APPLICANTS?

  • ASE certification preferred (Automotive Service Excellence)
  • Previous experience as a Diesel or Automotive Mechanic

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job will involve occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements such as hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, dust/dirt and exhaust fumes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods
    • Must be able to lift and move inventory items and other work-related items (up to 50 pounds)

    • Must be able to push, pull, bend at the knees and waist, lift, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, climb steps, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, all of this for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the day.
