About the Role
This position will support MoneyLion’s Anti-Money Laundering Program. The AMLBSA Compliance Investigator is responsible for performing CIP, KYC, and AML compliance functions which include but are not limited to unusual activity investigations and global sanctions screening among other AML related processes, practices, transactions and activity to ensure that applicable laws, rules and regulations are applied accurately and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong awareness of company goals, regulatory and legislative developments and industry trends
- Perform independent analysis for cases involving suspicious activity
- Researching, investigating, and analyzing alerts, reports and cases for suspicious activity and make independent determination on cases in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the USA PATRIOT Act.
- Ability to manage caseload and time to complete assigned work monthly.
- Ability to independently work on multiple duties within the department
- Compiling data and maintaining necessary records and files to assure efficient and consistent reporting of investigations.
- Preparing and thoroughly documenting factual and impartial findings in an accurate and timely manner for reportable and non-reportable cases.
- Keep abreast with money laundering and terrorist financing behaviors, issues, policies, regulations, criminal typologies, industry best practices, and developing trends
- Proactive in identifying potential weaknesses in processes
- Act as a subject matter expert to employees, providing guidance on what actions to take in dealing with high risk accounts
- Assist with addressing queries from partner banks relating to money laundering matters
- Assist with special projects and assignments, as assigned
About You
- Possess thorough knowledge of BSA, AML and OFAC regulations
- Prior experience in financial crimes investigations, enhanced due diligence reviews and OFAC
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to effectively make decisions and problem solve
- Good writing skills and the ability to interpret complex activity to a well understood narrative
- Ability to organize and analyze complex data sets
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Computer literacy and proficiency
- Experience with suspicious transaction investigations and SAR filing
- Compliance and regulatory experience
- Ability to effectively manage numerous tasks and sensitive information in a professional manner in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Analytical mindset and the ability to identify, escalate, and communicate issues to management Perform other duties as assigned
The annual base salary for the AML/BSA Compliance Investigator role is expected to be between $65,000 to $70,000. Base salary is one component of MoneyLion's total compensation package, which includes, 401(k) match, multiple health insurance options, disability coverage, life insurance, and unlimited paid time off for salaried positions. Actual salaries will vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies related to the role.
