How We Work:

Reporting to Senior Privacy Counsel, the Privacy Program Manager will collaborate closely with business, engineering, risk, security, and compliance teams across the globe.

We work cross-functionally and internationally to embed privacy by design into Gen’s culture, ensuring privacy is integrated into products, services, and operations from the ground up. Mission and Goals:

The Privacy Program Manager will strengthen Gen’s global privacy program by ensuring compliance with evolving data protection regulations, driving operational excellence, and enhancing privacy program maturity across the organization.

This role plays a critical part in building trust with customers, regulators, and partners while enabling business innovation in a responsible and compliant way.

Objectives:

  • Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of Gen’s global privacy compliance framework.

  • Interpret emerging data protection laws and translate them into actionable requirements, policies, playbooks, and controls.

  • Drive cross-functional privacy initiatives, including product reviews and launches, data subject access rights processes, automation efforts, and M&A privacy integrations.

  • Embed privacy by design within product and engineering teams by identifying and mitigating privacy risks, including conducting and managing Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs).

  • Coordinate with the Data Protection Officer on high-risk processing activities.

  • Oversee privacy audit and assurance programs (e.g., NIST-P, FTC, ISO, SOC 2), manage internal and external audits, and track remediation efforts.

  • Administer data subject rights operations and scale privacy workflows using automation and privacy tools (e.g., OneTrust, CHEQ).

  • Develop and maintain privacy metrics, dashboards, and reporting to inform leadership and demonstrate regulatory readiness.

  • Deliver targeted privacy training and awareness initiatives to foster a culture of privacy ownership and accountability.

  • Collaborate with risk, security, and compliance teams to align privacy practices within enterprise-wide governance frameworks.

  • Support privacy incident response and regulatory inquiries, ensuring timely investigation and corrective actions.

  • Manage privacy-related third-party assessments, customer inquiries, and certification activities.

Competencies (Minimum Qualifications):

  • 5+ years of experience in privacy, compliance, or risk management, with at least 3 years managing or leading privacy or related program functions.

  • Deep understanding of global privacy laws and frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, NIST-P, and ISO 27701.

  • Proven experience managing audits and regulatory assessments (e.g., NIST-P, FTC).

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Hands-on experience with privacy management tools such as OneTrust or CHEQ.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex privacy concepts for both legal and non-legal audiences.

  • AI-first mindset and experience using AI tools to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • IAPP certifications (CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, or FIP).

  • Experience working in technology, SaaS, or cybersecurity environments.

  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
