About Norton
Norton is one of the world’s most trusted cybersecurity brands, with over 30 years of heritage protecting consumers from evolving digital threats. Today, Norton is a comprehensive digital safety platform — protecting devices, identities, families, and financial lives. Backed by Gen’s global scale, Norton is in the middle of its most significant product transformation: a reimagined experience, a simplified lineup, and an AI-powered intelligent advisor at its core.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Principal Product Manager to own the strategy, direction, and business performance of Norton’s standalone point solutions portfolio, spanning privacy, scam protection, family safety, and device optimization.
This role combines product leadership with broad commercial ownership. You’ll evaluate where to invest, how to evolve existing products, and where to consolidate or retire offerings, while partnering with dedicated design and engineering teams to bring those decisions to life.
Our point solutions play an important role in Norton’s growth strategy: solving specific consumer needs, introducing customers to the Norton brand, and creating opportunities to connect them with our flagship Norton 360 suite. You’ll own the portfolio’s contribution to acquisition, retention, cross-sell, and financial performance.
This role requires someone who can manage a diverse product portfolio with commercial rigor, clear prioritization, and a strong understanding of customer needs.
Location: NYC (Onsite 3 days per week)
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Strategy & Growth
Define the strategy and investment priorities for Norton’s standalone point solutions, balancing customer needs, market opportunities, and business performance.
Evaluate the portfolio and determine where to invest, evolve, consolidate, or retire products.
Develop and execute growth strategies across the portfolio, improving acquisition, activation, conversion, and retention.
Monitor market dynamics, competitor offerings, and consumer behavior; translate insights into product and go-to-market decisions.
Partner with commercial and finance teams to manage portfolio performance and connect roadmap investments to revenue, profitability, and long-term customer value.
Point Solutions Portfolio Management
Own the product roadmap and performance outcomes for Norton Genie (on-demand scam detection), PMA (data broker removal), device optimization tools (NUU/NDU) and more.
Treat these products as the acquisition and lead-generation engine they are — understanding their role in Norton’s financial model, pipeline metrics, and customer count strategy, and managing them accordingly.
Identify opportunities to improve conversion, activation, and cross-sell rates across the point solutions portfolio, working closely with marketing and data science to run and measure experiments.
Maintain high product quality and user experience standards across all point solutions — these are often a user’s first impression of the Norton brand.
Ecosystem Integration & N360 Funnel
Design and own the product strategy for how standalone point solutions connect to the broader N360 ecosystem — ensuring these products serve as effective on-ramps to Norton’s core suite.
Collaborate with the N360 product team to ensure cohesive cross-product experiences, shared data signals, and well-designed upgrade pathways.
Define and track the metrics that measure ecosystem contribution: trial-to-paid conversion, cross-sell rates, upgrades to Norton 360, and contribution to total subscriber count.
Cross-Functional Execution
Partner with engineering, design, data science, and security research teams to build and ship product improvements with velocity and quality.
Align with marketing on acquisition campaigns, GTM messaging, and channel strategy for the point solutions portfolio.
Communicate product strategy, portfolio performance, and roadmap priorities clearly to senior stakeholders — including executive leadership and cross-functional partners.
Navigate complex stakeholder relationships across product, commercial, and technical teams, balancing competing priorities with transparency and rigor.
Analytical Rigor & Performance Management
Define clear success metrics for each product in the portfolio — growth, retention, conversion, and ecosystem contribution — and own performance against those metrics.
Synthesize funnel analytics, A/B test results, customer research, and competitive data into product decisions and executive updates.
Proactively surface performance insights across the portfolio and translate them into action without being asked.
What You’ll Bring
6+ years of product management experience, including ownership of consumer-facing digital products, with a track record of setting product strategy, leading execution, and delivering measurable business results.
Experience defining product priorities and roadmaps, partnering with engineering and design, and taking improvements from discovery through launch.
A track record of using customer insights, product analytics, and experimentation to improve customer experiences and business results.
Understanding of consumer product growth, including acquisition, activation, conversion, or retention.
Strong prioritization and communication skills, with the ability to balance customer needs, business opportunities, and technical considerations.
Ability to take initiative, navigate ambiguity, and work across multiple product areas.
Ability to work from our New York City office three days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in consumer cyber safety, privacy, security, or family safety.
Experience building and growing products at a rapidly growing consumer technology company.
Exposure to subscription products, monetization, or cross-sell strategies.
The annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $220,000 and $240,000. Base salary is one component of Gen's total compensation package, which includes 401(k) match, health insurance options, disability coverage, life insurance, and unlimited paid time off. Actual salaries will vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies related to the role.
