Fresh off a $20M growth investment from Edison Partners, NPHub is at a pivotal moment, and we’re looking for a strategic financial leader to help us write the next chapter. We are solving a critical bottleneck in healthcare by matching Nurse Practitioner (NP) students with the clinical placements they need to graduate. Our core marketplace is booming, and our new SaaS product, NPHire, is rapidly gaining traction with healthcare employers.

This isn't a back-office accounting job; it's a front-line leadership position. As our VP, Controller, you will be the strategic architect of our financial infrastructure. You will report directly to the COO and partner with the executive team to build a world-class finance function that not only ensures compliance but actively drives profitable growth. You will be entrusted with building and leading the accounting and finance operations for a business with two distinct and exciting revenue models: a high-volume marketplace and a recurring-revenue SaaS platform. You'll provide the financial rigor and data-driven insights that empower our leadership team and PE partners to make bold, informed decisions as we scale.

What You'll Own & Achieve:

1. Strategic Financial Leadership & Partnership

• Act as a key strategic partner to the COO and executive team, translating complex financial data into actionable strategies for our marketplace and SaaS business lines.
• Own the financial narrative, preparing and presenting clear, insightful financial packages for internal leadership, our Board of Directors, and our PE investors at Edison Partners.
• Mastermind our financial future by leading the annual budgeting and planning process and developing dynamic, rolling forecasts that guide our growth trajectory.
• Analyze and report on the core drivers of our business: gross margin, CAC payback, take rate, subscription churn, and LTV.

2. World-Class Accounting Operations

• Drive a best-in-class, 5-day financial close, delivering timely and accurate insights that guide our strategic decisions.
• Serve as our in-house GAAP expert, building robust, audit-proof processes and policies, particularly around revenue recognition (ASC 606) for our hybrid revenue models.
• Command the day-to-day accounting operations (A/R, A/P, GL, cash management) with an eye towards automation and efficiency.
• Develop and implement scalable billing and collections infrastructure to support multi-month payment plans and enterprise subscription models.

3. Building a Scalable, Tech-Forward Foundation

• Architect and implement a financial tech stack (evaluating and migrating to a new ERP, implementing billing tools) that can support our rapid growth and increasing complexity.
• Lead a seamless and successful annual external audit, establishing NPHub as a model of audit-readiness and strong internal controls.
• Collaborate relentlessly with Sales, Product, and Operations to ensure our financial systems and reporting are perfectly aligned with our go-to-market execution.

What You'll Bring to the Table:

• A Proven Builder: You have a track record (10+ years) of progressive accounting leadership, with significant experience as a Controller or a similar role in a high-growth environment. You’ve scaled a finance function before and are eager to do it again.
• PE-Backed DNA: You thrive in the fast-paced, data-driven, and results-oriented world of private equity. You have experience with investor reporting, covenant compliance, and managing a leveraged balance sheet.
• Modern Business Model Fluency: You have deep operational expertise in SaaS (ARR) and/or two-sided marketplace business models. You speak the language of ASC 606, deferred revenue, and key growth metrics fluently.
• Leadership & Influence: You are an exceptional communicator who can distill complex financial information for C-suite executives, board members, and non-finance stakeholders. You build trust and inspire confidence.
• Hands-On & Strategic: You can toggle effortlessly between high-level strategy and rolling up your sleeves to get the job done. No task is beneath you when it comes to building a great company.
• Technical Excellence: CPA is highly preferred. You possess an ironclad understanding of GAAP and have experience managing successful audits with Big 4 or national firms.
• Tech Savvy: You have experience with modern accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct) and are skilled in leveraging FP&A and BI tools to create value.
• Bonus Points: Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
