Position Summary:

The Technical Project Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of complex technical projects across multiple engineering teams. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of APIs, containers, and data infrastructure, and is comfortable using project management tools like JIRA and Confluence. By bridging technical and business objectives, the Technical Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Agile Processes: Lead project management rituals—planning, estimation, stand-ups, retrospectives—for 2-3 engineering teams using methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Technical Translation: Manage data engineering projects (e.g., ETL pipelines), ensuring clear communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Translate technical concepts (APIs, containers, data streams) into accessible language for different audiences.
  • Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Communication: Document requirements and serve as a communication link between engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Manage Technology Migrations: Plan and execute migration projects, such as moving from one tech stack to another, ensuring minimal disruption and successful adoption.
  • Monitor Technical Health: Review logs, monitors, and dashboards to track project progress, surface issues, and communicate findings to relevant teams.
  • Project Management Tooling: Use Atlassian suite tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.) to manage tasks, workflows, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies and associated rituals.
  • Basic technical understanding of APIs, containers, ETL infrastructure, and data (streams, cache, structured/unstructured).
  • Proven ability to interpret and act on technical metrics from logs, monitors, and dashboards.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
