Payra was started as a direct result of a problem encountered by its founders: the pain of remitting money to family members, and the lack of banking services to the masses. • majority of filipinos are not served by banks, only 5% have access to bank accounts. • banks have limited benefits - only cater to high income individuals, issue many fees, and have inflexible plans. • most filipinos have no access to credit/debit cards, only 2% of the population have credit cards. In 2012, we set out to fix the problem and payra was born. Payra was designed to provide all consumers and businesses with instant access to their finances and online baking needs anytime, anywhere. Payra aims to facilitate, empower and sanction the use of technology and incorporate it with the beneficial use of traditional debit cards.
