What You’ll Do:

As a Data QA Engineer, you will help promote space safety, security, and sustainability by ensuring the quality of the data products generated by the Slingshot Global Sensor Network (SGSN). You will perform data curation and support efforts to monitor and visualize data quality and related metrics pertaining to SGSN data collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination. You'll work with the SGSN Operations Team, as well as interact with product managers, software developers, and other internal stakeholders to gather and execute against data product requirements in a timely manner.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Executes all position responsibilities in alignment with Slingshot’s core values, mission, and purpose
  • Design, develop, and maintain data quality and related metrics, alerts, and visualizations thereof
  • Analyze data in near real-time to identify issues for other teammates to investigate, and support the resolution and reporting thereof
  • Regularly review data quality metrics and make improvements as customer needs and product capabilities evolve
  • Troubleshoot data quality issues and modify test procedures to facilitate customer success
  • Follow & promote industry best practices for data quality assurance and tool sets
  • Perform other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of the responsibilities listed above)

Pre-Requisites

  • Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for government clearances

Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ years of QA methodologies, automated testing tools and test strategies
  • Knowledge and passion for data curation and data QA methodologies & processes, including designing automated testing solutions
  • Expertise in breaking down feature requirements to design efficient targeted & end-to-end testing scenarios
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Skill and comfort working on a fast-paced team with dynamic objectives and iteration with users

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience taking ownership of data curation activities
  • Experience with Python, MongoDB, Datadog
  • Experience working in a startup environment on a high-performing team

Location: Remote Continental US

Pay Range: $75,000-$95,000

Classification: Full time Exempt (computer employee exemption)
