The Role
TripleLift is building innovative Connected TV products that allow publishers to programmatically monetize their inventory in new and innovative ways. TripleLift’s CTV Integrated Ads products allow publishers to add programmatic split-screen and overlay frame Ads within their existing programmatic pipes. In addition TripleLift’s technology allows advertisers to insert their branding or products inside shows in a beautiful, seamless and integrated way using state of the art VFX automation. These Integrated Ads are net new monetization opportunities for publishers.
The Analysis Services team within the CTV Engineering team owns independent analysis services used by our CTV supply management solutions. This team is a “you build it, you run it” team accountable for all TripleLift owned-and-operated Computer Vision (CV) and Machine Learning (ML) services used in the analysis of video content. This team is responsible for the development and operation of analysis services, as well as all supporting functionality, systems, and services, including data collection and management, model training and testing, model deployment, and everything in between.
Reporting to the VP, Data Science and Engineering, the manager of the Analysis Services team will be responsible for managing a team of both CV/ML Engineers/Researchers as well as Fullstack Developers in an Agile framework setup for continuous delivery. You will coach, mentor, train and hire team members according to the resourcing plan provided by company leadership, and work in tandem with the CTV Product Management team to develop technical roadmaps that use applied research techniques in a manner that incrementally builds business value in a highly iterative manner. You will also serve as a technical contributor who aids the team in planning, system architecture, and development, while ensuring that TripleLift stays abreast of the current state-of-the-art in CV/ML research. The successful candidate is expected to be able to present the team's work at company events, as well as in the public sphere at technical conferences. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with excellent technical project management skills.
Responsibilities

Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of software engineers and technologists owning people, process and technology

Motivate the team to work incrementally towards a strategic vision, while focusing on continuous delivery and short-term execution

Align product roadmaps with overall technical vision and product-line strategy

Work collaboratively with product management and creative management teams to align technical deliverables with operational schedules

Act as a technical product manager for the CTV Analysis Services products

Provide technical direction to CV/ML Engineers (typically Masters or PhD level staff members)

Guide Fullstack Engineers to build solutions incrementally using Python, Kotlin, Typescript, React and AWS

Guide and facilitate applied research activities in the area of computer vision and machine learning and ensure that research translates into in-market products

Support strategic partnerships with vendors and research institutions

Required Skills and Attributes

Ability to manage an interdisciplinary team of software engineering teams - up to 7 people

Scrum leadership and/or experience with Lean engineering practices

Strong and diverse technical background

A strong bias toward execution and incremental delivery of business value

Ability to work independently and to be self-aligning

Exceptional verbal and written communication skill;

Ability to dive-deep and be hands-on when needed
Experience Requirement
-
3+ years as an individual contributor working on CV/ML software development
-
5+ years of experience working with software engineers
-
1+ years of experience in technical leadership
-
2+ years of experience building applications on AWS
-
Experience working with AWS SageMaker desired
-
Experience working with academic researchers is an asset
-
2-3 years of experience in CTV/OTT field an asset
-
2-3 years of experience in programmatic advertising an asset
Education Requirement
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D in Computer Science or equivalent experience (>=M.S. preferred)
