Join our team as a Site Reliability Engineer and be a vital part of operating and enhancing our production environments. As an expert in monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health, you will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our software applications. You will also have the opportunity to build software and systems using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, effectively managing our platform infrastructure and applications. With your expertise, we will improve the reliability, quality, cost-effectiveness, security, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in optimizing system performance and driving continuous improvements. Your keen eye for identifying areas for enhancement and implementing strategic solutions will make a significant impact on our operations. You will provide primary operational support and engineering expertise for multiple large-scale distributed software applications, ensuring seamless operations and proactively addressing any challenges that may arise. Essential Duties and Functions
Work with a team of Site Reliability Engineers to implement DevOps culture, infrastructure reliability, and collaborate to solve day-to-day problems
Work with the Security team to set up monitoring tools and help remediate findings
Work with external compliance teams to gather evidence for audits and business continuity readiness
Work with development teams and outside contractors to enhance and support existing business applications that focus on health analytics
Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives
Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and reliability troubleshooting
Help optimize costs and ensure compliance with enterprise security and audit requirements
Spend time on an alternating on-call schedule to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure problems
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
5 years of experience working with AWS services and container technologies to help support health analytics applications.
Amazon Web Services such as EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, EKS, Lambda, RDS
Familiarity with AWS security-related features and products such as AWS Organizations, Control Tower, SSO, AWS Config, GuardDuty, WAFs, and Shield
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
Docker and containerization for development and continuous integration
Kubernetes cluster administration and related continuous delivery systems using Helm Charts
Support of applications written in node.js, Ruby on Rails, and React
Logging and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
Management of load balancers using HaProxy and ELB
Linux system administration and networking
Bash scripting and knowledge of high-level programming languages such as JavaScript or Python
Continuous integration tools such as Github Actions, CircleCI, or Gitlab CI
Continuous deployment tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, or Gitlab
Administration and performance tuning of PostgreSQL databases
Configuration management using Ansible and Packer
Preferred Skills
Vulnerability scanning tools such as Prowler
Performance tuning systems with high-volume traffic, large data sets, and complex data analytics queries
Big Data solutions such as Spark, EMR, and Redshift
Management of multi-account AWS organizations with AWS Control Tower
Tableau administration
