As Chief of Staff for Zelis Engineering and Information Technology (ZEIT), you will play a critical role in driving the success of our enterprise technology strategy, delivery, and operations. The Chief of Staff will serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the ZEIT Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The successful candidate will be a strategic thought partner to the CIO and ZEIT SLT, helping craft and share narratives that connect and support delivery commitments for technology that spans Zelis.
This role will drive a high degree of collaboration within ZEIT, across business units, and across the enterprise / shared functions. Your exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills will contribute to our mission to ensure Zelis associates can work seamlessly, and customers and partners have low-friction, high security experiences with Zelis.
Location and Workplace Flexibility: We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote friendly culture and all of our employee's work locations are based on the needs of the position and determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities, if applicable, vary based on the work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the CIO to craft and deliver clear and concise executive presentations, meaningful reports, and effective updates to senior executives
Summarize complex technical concepts into easily digestible information for non-technical stakeholders, as well as create and publish progress against high-profile deliverable commitments
Coordinate and lead planning sessions with the SLT, balancing strategic outcomes with tactical progress insights
Ensure the CIO has relevant KPIs and strategic messaging to effectively engage with Board members, other Operating Committee members, Zelis SLT, and all associates
Partner with the Office of the CIO (OOCIO) leader to track, analyze and report technology performance per MITs (Most Important Tasks/Goals), major and minor deliverables, and transformational change initiatives, as needed
Define areas of risk and/or opportunity for committed MITs and collaborate with the ZEIT SLT to address them in a proactive and timely fashion
Collaborate closely with the entire ZEIT SLT, analyze and report performance based on ZEIT strategy and roadmap commitments, including recommending areas needing communication and/or intervention to ensure effective completion, and proactively encourage steps needed to drive organizational change via positive engagement and messaging
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to drive collaboration, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with strategic priorities as defined on the ZEIT roadmap as well as business unit and functional roadmaps
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in either Computer Science / Engineering / Mathematics, or Business / Marketing / Communications with real world technology experience
Proven experience in thinking and acting creatively, championing and promoting new ideas that contribute to the aims of Zelis and ZEIT
Must be able to communicate effectively with visual presentation creation capabilities as a primary strength
3 + years of experience working with or within technology teams, including those that support in-house shared services or product development, enterprise platforms like Salesforce, and infrastructure
Strong understanding of governance, analytics methodologies, and contemporary technology practices
5+ years of experience in change management and organizational transformation
Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to lead others through influence, inspire innovation, and foster collaboration at all levels in the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (MBA, MS)
Experience influencing and/or leading global teams
