Internal Communications Manager (Remote)

The Internal Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic internal communication initiatives that maintains and enhances an already strong organizational culture. This role will help level up the ways we’re reaching associates across all internal channels and oversee the planning and execution of digital content creation and manage video production projects.

You are comfortable speaking in front of a crowd, an excellent writer, and obsessed with project management. You connect dots, hit deadlines, have a high attention to detail, and understand the importance of guiding your plans through efficient review cycles.

Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, you are enthusiastic, have a growth mindset, and an essential part of a team that is always ideating and pushing the bar higher.

Core Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)

Strategy Planning and Support

  • Develop and implement rolling comprehensive internal communications strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals and enhances employee engagement.
  • Serve as news desk planner for proactive content that showcases employee and leadership storytelling in the form of articles, internal social, video, graphics, etc. shared via internal channels and platforms.
  • Support change management initiatives, organization announcements, crisis communications, and related content planning and creation.
  • Oversee the production of internal video content, including storyboarding, scripting, filming, and editing to convey key programs, company message alignment, and highlight employee stories.
  • Collaborate with Internal Marketing, People & Culture, and BU leadership to create campaigns around impactful initiatives while promoting associate engagement and feedback.

Channel, Tactic, and Content Ownership

  • Write and edit communication materials, including internal social media updates, Zhub (intranet) newsroom, email organization announcements, and more, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging.
  • Implement and manage channels for associate feedback in internal communications and internal marketing efforts, ensuring that insights are collected, analyzed, and communicated back to leadership.
  • Work closely with various departments to ensure alignment of messaging and support for organizational initiatives. Build, manage, and execute high-visibility associate programs and communications that inform, engage, and inspire employees to participate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in internal communications, preferably in technology or modern, fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications for company communications – including Modern SharePoint, Viva Engage, and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Proven visual design skills, including adapting content across various internal platforms, including for intranet, social, video, and other content systems.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to see projects through from start to finish and report on progress.
  • Strong relationship building and ability to maintain follow ups.
  • Canva and video production experience a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to interact with various departments and levels.
  • Strong writing, formatting, and editing skills.

Location and Workplace Flexibility: We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India.
