Position Overview

We are seeking a forward-thinking Director, People & Culture Advanced Analytics to serve as the lead data scientist for HR. This role will build and scale a modern people analytics function—from foundational organizational health dashboards to advanced predictive analytics—enabling data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.

This leader will transform how People & Culture delivers insights: shifting from static reports and spreadsheets to dynamic, real-time dashboards with actionable intelligence and democratization of people insights for the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • People Analytics Strategy

    • Define and execute the strategy for P&C advanced analytics that aligns with the business and enhances understanding of the Zelis workforce

    • Serve as the primary data science leader for HR, partnering with Senior Leadership, P&C Business Partners, and other stakeholders to influence data-driven workforce strategy

    • Identify key workforce and talent-related questions; frame hypotheses and identify which metrics matter to business leaders; workforce data to business outcomes

  • Data Science & Advanced Analytics

    • Establish a unified data ecosystem to enable comprehensive organizational health measurement

    • Design and deploy predictive models (e.g., attrition risk, workforce planning, engagement drivers) leveraging statistical modeling, machine learning, and scenario analysis

    • Develop business intelligence dashboard development, data visualization, user experience, data engineering, and leverage effective partnerships with technology

    • Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders

    • Mine and integrate data across multiple sources (HRIS, engagement surveys, performance, recruiting, financial, and external benchmarks) and ensure data quality, integrity, and appropriate governance

  • Adoption

    • Champion a culture of evidence-based decision-making and ensure end-users understand the value of people analytics

    • Drive adoption of data-driven tools and dashboards across P&C and leaders

    • Upskill P&C partners on interpreting and leveraging analytics

What You’ll Bring to Zelis:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Human Resource, Statistics, or related field preferred

  • 12-15+ years of experience in people analytics, data science, or advanced analytics; HR experience required

  • Proven experience building predictive models and translating insights into business impact

  • Strong expertise in data visualization tools, with Sigma experience preferred

  • Experience integrating and analyzing data across multiple enterprise systems

  • Demonstrated ability to lead transformation from manual reporting to automated, scalable analytics solutions

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

Location and Workplace Flexibility

We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote friendly culture, and all our employee's work locations are based on the needs of the position and determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities, if applicable, vary based on the work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.

Base Salary Range

$153,000.00 - $193,800.00

At Zelis we are committed to providing fair and equitable compensation packages. The base salary range allows us to make an offer that considers multiple individualized factors, including experience, education, qualifications, as well as job-related and industry-related knowledge and skills, etc. Base pay is just one part of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonus plans, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.
