Position Overview

Role Summary
Zelis is looking for an experienced .NET Lead to drive the design, development, and delivery of high‑scale payment platforms within the Zelis Payments portfolio. This role requires strong technical leadership, deep expertise in .NET technologies, and hands-on experience building secure, reliable, and high‑performance payment systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end development of payment solutions using .NET technologies.
  • Architect and build scalable, secure, and highly available payment services and APIs.
  • Provide technical leadership to development teams, including design reviews, code reviews, and best practices adoption.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Drive development across payment workflows, transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, and integrations.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and performance standards for financial systems.
  • Guide the team in implementing microservices architecture and cloud-native designs.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and production readiness.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Mentor junior engineers and build a strong, high-performing engineering team.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in .NET development, with at least 2–3 years in a technical lead role.
  • Strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, and RESTful services.
  • Hands-on experience designing and building payment or financial systems.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and distributed computing.
  • Experience with SQL Server and data modeling for high-volume transaction systems.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS acceptable).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices, authentication, authorization, and data protection.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.


Good to Have

  • Domain experience in healthcare payments or fintech platforms.
  • Knowledge of PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOX, or SOC compliance.
  • Experience with message queuing and streaming platforms (Kafka, Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ).
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to performance optimization
