Position Overview
The Member Engagement & Transparency Business Unit at Zelis is seeking a highly strategic and operationally focused leader to drive product planning, governance, and cross-functional coordination across the organization. Reporting to the VP of Operations & Product Readiness, this role will play a critical part in orchestrating the annual capital planning process, supporting long-range product planning, and ensuring alignment between product strategy and investment priorities.This individual will partner closely with Product leadership across the business unit to coordinate strategic operating plans (SOPs), business cases, and investment proposals that support annual and multi-year planning cycles. The role requires strong organizational leadership, executive communication skills, and the ability to drive accountability across a complex, matrixed environment.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of product operations, strategic planning, program management, and financial planning coordination experience. They will serve as a trusted operational partner to Product leadership, ensuring planning processes are executed effectively, deadlines are met, and business initiatives align with organizational priorities.
What You'll Do:
Strategic Planning & Capital Planning
Lead and coordinate the annual capital planning process across the Member Engagement & Transparency Product organization
Partner with Product leaders to develop and consolidate strategic operating plans (SOPs) that support annual investment planning and long-range product strategies
Ensure product-level business cases, investment proposals, and planning materials are complete, aligned, and submitted within established timelines
Review strategic operating plans and business cases for alignment with organizational objectives, portfolio strategy, customer needs, and financial goals
Facilitate planning discussions with Product, Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership to support prioritization and investment decisions
Support development and maintenance of long-range product planning frameworks and portfolio roadmaps
Identify risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs across planning initiatives and proactively drive resolution strategies
Product Operations & Governance
Establish operational rhythms, governance processes, and planning cadences across the Product organization in support of Strategic Planning
Drive accountability across Product teams to ensure planning milestones, deliverables, and approvals are completed on time
Develop standardized templates, reporting mechanisms, and planning processes to improve consistency and transparency across the organization
Partner with Product leadership to track strategic initiatives, investment priorities, and portfolio-level progress
Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between Product, Finance, Technology, Operations, and other business stakeholders
Support executive-level reporting, portfolio reviews, and planning presentations
Continuously improve planning, prioritization, and operational governance processes
Cross-Functional Leadership
Serve as a trusted operational partner to Product leadership and the VP of Operations & Product Readiness
Facilitate alignment across multiple stakeholders and functional teams in a highly matrixed environment
Help translate strategic priorities into actionable operational plans and execution frameworks
Drive communication and transparency across planning cycles and organizational initiatives
Support change management and organizational readiness related to strategic planning initiatives and investment priorities
What You'll Bring:
7+ years of experience in Product Operations, Program Management, Strategic Planning, Portfolio Management, or related operational leadership roles
Demonstrated experience coordinating annual planning, capital planning, portfolio governance, or long-range strategic planning processes
Strong understanding of product organizations, product development lifecycles, and operational planning processes
Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives involving multiple senior stakeholders
Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights
Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
Experience working closely with Product, Finance, Technology, and Operations leaders
Ability to influence without direct authority and drive accountability across teams
Experience developing business cases, investment proposals, or strategic planning documentation
Strong project and program management capabilities, including risk management, dependency tracking, and milestone coordination
Proficiency with planning and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office, or similar platforms
Healthcare, healthcare technology, fintech, or regulated industry experience preferred
Preferred Leadership Characteristics

Location and Workplace Flexibility
Zelis is headquartered in the U.S., with multiple locations across the country and in Hyderabad, India. Check out our locations to learn more about our offices. All employee work locations are based on the needs of the position and are determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities vary based on work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.
While location expectations vary by role, candidates within approximately 50 miles of a U.S. office are generally preferred to support collaboration when needed. Our hybrid approach is flexible, and in-office presence is guided by team and business needs rather than a fixed weekly schedule.
Base Salary Range
$139,000.00 - $176,700.00At Zelis we are committed to providing fair and equitable compensation packages. The base salary range allows us to make an offer that considers multiple individualized factors, including experience, education, qualifications, as well as job-related and industry-related knowledge and skills, etc. Base pay is just one part of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonus plans, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.
