Implementation Specialist

Who We Are
PAYRA is a Nashville-based fintech startup transforming the way businesses manage Accounts Receivable. Our platform helps companies get paid faster by seamlessly integrating with the ERP and accounting systems they already use—automating collections, powering branded customer payment portals, and delivering real-time payment reconciliation. No rip-and-replace. Just smarter, faster cash flow.
We're in an exciting stage of growth. Due to our intense product-market fit, new customers are going live every week. Our product continues to evolve rapidly, and our implementation team is at the center of it all. This isn't a role where you'll inherit a mature process and simply maintain it—you'll help build, refine, and scale the implementation function at a company that's growing fast and making a real impact.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Implementation, you'll own the end-to-end onboarding and integration of PAYRA's platform for a growing portfolio of clients. You'll be the face of PAYRA during the most critical phase of the client journey, with real ownership and direct influence on how we scale this function. You'll also serve as a technical resource during the sales cycle — joining late-stage demos when prospects want to see the integrations in action, walking them live through ERP connections inside PAYRA's platform.
What You'll Do
- Own the full implementation lifecycle — from sales kickoff handoff through go-live — across a portfolio of clients running diverse ERP and accounting environments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact during onboarding, setting clear expectations, building trust, and driving accountability on all sides.
- Build and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and milestone tracking to keep every implementation on schedule.
- Lead discovery sessions to deeply understand each client's existing systems, data flows, and integration requirements — then translate that into a tailored implementation plan.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Support to clear blockers and keep things moving fast.
- Identify and troubleshoot integration issues across ERP and accounting platforms (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, and others), escalating where needed.
- Track and report on implementation health, risk, and outcomes — keeping internal stakeholders informed and projects on track.
- Join late-stage sales demos as a technical resource — walking prospects live through ERP integrations and platform capabilities to build confidence and accelerate deals.
- Partner closely with the Sales team to answer integration-specific questions during the evaluation process and ensure a smooth handoff post-close.
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of onboarding playbooks, processes, and internal tooling — because we're building this plane while we fly it.
- Stay organized through implementation, preparing proper handoff documentation for the Customer Success team.
What We're Looking For
- 2-5 years in Project Management, Implementation Management, or Customer Success — ideally at a SaaS or fintech company.
- Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable workflows, financial operations, or accounting processes — you know how money moves through a business.
- Hands-on experience with ERP or accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics — the more the better.
- Background in financial SaaS, fintech, or accounting technology strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple concurrent implementations without losing a beat.
- Exceptional communicator — equally comfortable presenting to a CFO or debugging an integration issue with an engineer.
- Analytical problem-solver who thrives on diagnosing root causes and building clean solutions.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive — you close loops and flag risks before they become fires.
- Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment where things change quickly and autonomy is the norm.
- Comfortable and polished in a sales environment — you can walk a room of skeptical finance executives through a live ERP integration and make it look easy
- Must be within driving distance of our Nashville, TN office in Germantown.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
Bonus Points If You Have…
- Experience in AR automation, payment processing, or collections technology.
- Familiarity with API integrations or light technical troubleshooting.
- Industry experience in construction, trades, or building materials businesses.
- A background in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance operations.
- Experience growing an implementation or CS function at an early-stage startup.
- Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or pre-sales technical resource.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus.
- Solid benefits package.
- The privilege of working on-site in our Germantown office (Neuhoff building) with the possibility of working a hybrid schedule.
- A high-ownership role with direct, visible impact on client outcomes and company growth.
- A collaborative, fast-moving team where your ideas actually get implemented.
- The rare opportunity to shape PAYRA's implementation practice from the ground up — early employee energy with real career upside.
If you're energized by building things from scratch, love working at the intersection of finance and technology, and want to be part of a company at an inflection point — we want to hear from you.
